I have been teaching for over twenty years in primary sector, with a specialism in primary science education.
I now teach two days a week in a primary school in North Warwickshire. The remainder of my time is spent working from home, running my own education consultancy business, 'EduKate'. I write educational materials for a wide range of different websites, establishments encouraging school visits and businesses wanting an education slant to their product. I also offer a service to clients who wish to design and build their own website.
The 'WildlifeKate' side of business has developed through my love of natural history. I have been astounded by the interest my work has generated and I will be appearing on Springwatch, Midlands Today and Gardener's World this Spring, as well as having a large show stand at Gardener's World Live at the NEC in June. I undertake all sorts of wildlife based consultancy work and have worked with Simon King on the Wildlife Whisperer website to help develop the educational side of this venture. I am also working with a range of companies that produce wildlife watching supplies to help them develop their products and explore the different ways of using these exciting technologies to get young people engaged with the wildlife in their local area.
My photography business specialises in child and pet portraits. The photography aspect of my work has developed from a hobby, which took on a new lease of life when I purchased a digital SLR. I now use a Canon 7D and a 40D and have a small portable studio, which has allowed me to expand the photography service I can offer to clients.
If you are interested in any aspect of the work I do or would like to discuss a project that you think I may be able to help you with, then feel free to contact me.
